Update on our “Big Day” – Sun Oct 5th 2014

Weekend events schedule:

Friday night, 7pm – solo piano concert at Sedona Creative Life Center (333 Schnebly Hill Rd) featuring Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley & Joe. Details HERE. Get the wedding group discount ($10 seats) by using the password/discount code wedding .Tickets at the door are also discounted to wedding attendees, just $10! We will be done by 9pm & probably head over to Oak Creek Brewing for a “hang”
Saturday, 10am – ceremony rehearsal at the Juniper Bar & Grille / Sedona Golf Resort (site of ceremony & reception). 35 Ridge Tail Drive. All wedding party folks please be there!
***We will be having breakfast there at 9am, anyone may join us… great food!
Saturday, noon – hike to stunning Yavapia Indian ruins with Louis & Christine. This is limited to 10 guests. Requires good health & the ability to climb a few rocks. Nothing treacherous, but it’s about a 2 hour / 3 mile trip. The site is stunning!  It’s about a 30-40 minute drive to the Boynton canyon trailhead. Saturday, 4pm-9pm – BBQ & Joe & Amy’s house, 65 Red Fox Ln, Sedona (Village of Oak Creek). IMPORTANT!!!  We live in strict HOA which allows only for a few cars to be parked on the street. So, our very kind neighbors Carlos & Sally Ann have opened up their very large driveway for you to park. They are one house past us at 85 Red Fox Ln. If you plan to stay til the end ,9pm, you may park in our drive way. Only 5 cars may be parked directly in front of our house, on our side of the street. Please consider carpooling with someone if at all possible!
We’ll have tons of food, but if you are vegetarian you may wanna bring something. We plan on making BBQ baby back ribs, herb grilled chicken breast, London broil, garlic mashed potatoes, basil peas, a BIG salad & dessert. We have some wine & beer, but if you plan on having more than one, ya betta bring some!
Sunday, 5:45pm, a sunset wedding! – please arrive on time at Juniper Bar & Grille / Sedona Golf Resort 35 Ridge Tail Drive. Meet out on the back patio. Ceremony & cocktail hour are outside, dinner/dancing inside.
Monday – for those hanging around for the day, we’ll enjoy Sedona together, or maybe a trip to the Grand Canyon???

Things to do
– The Grand Canon South Rim is just a two hour drive, expect breezy & cooler weather than in Sedona. $20/vehicle admission fee to the park
-Drive thru Oak Creek Canyon – take 179 N to 89A N & enjoy a beautiful ride towards Flagstaff. Most of the parks up there are open now, check out a great hike at West Fork! there are shops & food along the drive, Grab lunch & a great coffee at Indian Gardens!
– Tons of hiking! The best trails near us are, Courthouse Butte, Chicken PointCathedral Rock. If you do hike Cathedral, follow Templeton Trail to the right around the backside of Cathedral Rock to a beautiful creek & fall colors! On the other side of town is Faye Canyon, Doe Mesa, & Devil’s Bridge. They are all stunning!

Food & stuff – in the Village, enjoy great breakfast & lunch at the Juniper Bar & Grille (wedding site), also at Red Rock Cafe. Excellent Coffee at Firecreek Coffee on HWY 179/Cortez. There is a grocery store in the Village, Webers IGA off 179 on Verde valley School RD. Our fav lunch is at Wildflower cafe in West Sedona at the Hyatt Pinon Point – 101 N State Rt 89A. Good dinner spots are the Marketplace Cafe, Javelinas (mexican), Picazzos (organic Italian) .

Shopping & Galleries – they’re everywhere! head to “Uptown” for the tourist shop strip, take 179 N, then a right on 89A. A few of our fav galleries in the area –  Stone Creations, The Village Art Gallery, Tlaquepaque Market.
